Who was your first celebrity crush?
Submitted by Glory.
Bruce Dickinson, lead singer of Iron Maiden.
I saw his broad chest and heard his heavenly
voice. Oooo baby!
A message from Dave Mustaine:
I have an announcement to make concerning our upcoming
tour dates and what follows after that. Keeping it brief so
the V.O.T.B.P. won't take our fun away
Have a great time speculating, and love and bruises to you all.
BTW- I hope I see alot of old friends on the upcoming
promo-tour this month. It won't be long until the reviews
start coming in, and I just want to say there will be mixed
opinions. I know you all are some of the wisest fans in all
of music, let alone metal.

Here at the metal den we do things wicked. Instead of a QotD (Question of the day),
We offer a BotD (Bitch of the day) to inspire your writing. Comment here, post it on your blog. Have some sinister fun!
BotD Rules
- Have respect for other posters
- No wars (take feuds elsewhere)
- Don't start your own BotD subject.
- Don't use your girlfriend's name, etc. ("Jane Doe is such a cunt"). Don't be afraid to use public names. "That Paris Hilton is a real dumb ass" Paris doesn't care, your girlfriend will.
Tenacious D's The Pick of Destiny white Jackson not genuine
by,
Panther Rhoads
*******************
Randy Rhoads surviving family confirmed the white Jackson in
The Pick of Destiny is a replica. Kathy Rhoads said the only artifact she approved
for the Tenacious D movie was a Rolling Stone magazine cover featuring Randy.
The Randy Rhoads white Jackson featured in The Pick of Destiny impressed friends of the Rhoads' family.
The white Jackson to Jack Black's right (above) is a magnificent replica.
The wings are slim, as Randy's original design. It's not a LTD Randy Rhoads Jackson (broader, shorter design).
The Randy Rhoads white Jackson is a closer replica than the Zakk Wylde
guitar parallel to it. The Zakk Wylde replica is an Epiphone Gibson. Not Zakk's
classic Gibson. Jack Black went to greater trouble replicating the white Jackson.
It reveals a greater devotion to Ozzy Osbourne's first guitar player.
We love you Zakk ...but Randy outshines the rest, dude...

A Matter of Life and Death (2006)
Iron Maiden
4 stars
Iron Maiden strikes back!
by,
Panther Rhoads
***************
Iron Maiden literally kicked everyone's ass
with the release of their album A Matter of Life and Death.
Once again, Iron Maiden outshines all the rest. This year,
Iron Maiden is too damned hot for Ozzfest!
Different World debuted # 7 on Billboard's charts not by
fluke. Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, and Janick Gers rocked
together in a perfect unity. The three guitar players have an
astounding chemistry together.
Bruce Dickinson owns the best set of vocals in metal,
Operatic and smooth. I do not hear where Bruce Dickinson
takes a breath on the song For the Greater Good of God.
Out of the shadows Bruce hits high notes sweet to the ears.
Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, and Dave Murray wrote and
composed amazing songs. The lyrical intelligence of A Matter of Life and Death
is very Iron Maiden. Descriptive and historically based on wars.
There's so much more A Matter of Life and Death offers.
I have searched for a weakness in Iron Maiden's latest album
but it's tight. A Matter of Life and Death is the best metal album of the
year. This is a must-own album for any true metal head.
Ten Thousand Fists (2005)
Disturbed
2.8 stars
Disturbed confusing at times
by, Panther Rhoads
**************
"Change myself, I'd rather die" (I'm alive) on Ten Thousand Fists
states everything you need to know about Disturbed's sound.
Disturbed squeezes into no genre.
I need a relief from genre whores such as Cradle of Filth. However,
a common Disturbed weakness is taking their independence too
far. There is no justification for a remake of Genesis' Land of Confusion.
Ten Thousand Fists greatest merit is guitarist Dan Donegan.
Donegan isn't a speed guitarist. He is a quality guitarist. He
chooses to flow steadily with the consistency of the group.
Reminding me of under rated and much greater guitarists
Ace Frehley (Kiss) and Janick Gers (Iron Maiden).
Ten Thousand Fists is a melodic break from the norm.
It is confusing when Disturbed wanders into Genesis territory.
Why the godawful mix of pop and metal? The good news
is every cd player is equipped with a skip button.
